The Flames look to continue their hot home play as they try to climb out of the cellar of the standings when they welcome in the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
San Jose has been slumping as of late as their last victory came all the way back on November 28th.

As for the Flames, they’ve picked up some steam as they’ve started their 2 game home stand with back to back wins.
San Jose
The last time the Sharks endured a victory, it came against these same Calgary Flames.
Back on November 28th, the Sharks tallied 5 goals in a 5-2 to win over Calgary. The Sharks come into this matchup off a loss Saturday night to the Tampa Bay Lightning. San Jose saw their third period rally fall just short as the Lightning held on for a 4-3 win.

San Jose could get a much needed boost come Tuesday with the return of Logan Couture. Couture has been on the injured reserve as he’s missed the Sharks last 23 games with a fractured right fibula.
D Marc-Edouard Vlasic will be OUT Tuesday as he continues to battle a lower body injury. He did not make the trip with the Sharks.
If San Jose is looking for a silver lining in this poor play streak, they can look to their road play in November. San Jose went 7-0-0 on the road during the month, but did fall in their most recent road contest 1-0 to Anaheim.
Calgary
The Flames are trying to get out of the cellar in the NHL and with their recent home play, this is a perfect chance.
Calgary has won 6 straight games at home and have opened their 5 game home stand with back to back wins there. The Flames defeated Dallas and then Boston to kick things have, which improved their home record to 7-5-0-0 on the season.
Calgary’s early season home woes led them to losses in 5 of 6 games. Their struggles were thanks in large part to the play of their defense. The Flames are still allowing 3.42 goals per game against at home.

Defenseman Kris Russel is expected to MISS Tuesday’s contest with the Sharks. Russel has been battling a hand injury and missed Friday’s game against Boston. While he didn’t practice on Monday, he will be reevaluated come Tuesday afternoon.
RW David Jones, who left Friday’s game with a lower body injury, is expected to be dressed and ready to go Tuesday night.
