Sunday, the series shifts to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as the Golden Knights try to take a 2-1 series lead over the San Jose Sharks. Friday, an extremely exciting first period helped propel Vegas to a victory on the road to even the first round.
Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas had a very odd game two. In the early moments, specifically the first six minutes or so of the 1st period, the Golden Knights were dominant and made the Sharks look like the team from the end of the regular season that lost five of its last eight games. Up 3-0, things shifted, as Vegas then allowed the Sharks to tie the game before the first intermission.
Luckily, thanks to goalie interference and a power play in the early second period, the Golden Knights regained a lead they briefly thought they had lost and never relinquished it again.
It turned out to be a fantastic performance for the stars of the Vegas squad. William Karlsson scored a shorthanded goal in the third period, while Max Pacioretty and Cody Eakin scored in that initial surge to open the game. The stars need to continue to score like that in order to beat a Sharks team that has proven it can climb back into games in mere minutes.
San Jose Sharks
Down 3-0, the Sharks had to wonder how they were going to get back into the game and if they have the right goaltender in between the pipes for this series. Martin Jones struggled immensely in game two, giving up three goals on seven shots before being pulled. However, it looks like San Jose will stick with him for game three despite the issues.
Watch for backup Aaron Dell, though, because Jones is historically bad against Vegas. He’s been pulled in five of 14 career starts against the Golden Knights, and he’ll surely be on a short leash on Sunday.
Offensively, it wasn’t a bad effort from San Jose. Tomas Hertl and Joe Thornton both scored to help the Sharks tie it up in the first period, but simply couldn’t find the back of the net moving forward. Expect another strong outing from Hertl, Thornton, and captain Joe Pavelski in game three. If they can get going and put pressure on Vegas and Marc-Andre Fleury, there’s a good chance we’ll see a game more reminiscent of game one than game two.

Free Vegas Golden Knights vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Prediction:
Momentum is in Vegas’ favor here, especially after the game two win and the shift to home ice. However, I like the Sharks to bounce back and take the lead in the series once again. It should be a offense-heavy game, but a close one.
4* Free NHL Playoff Betting Pick: OVER 6
Another over hit in game two and nearly did so in the first period alone. Just keep betting the over in this series, because it should hit again in game three.
