There has been a lot of twist and turns to this point for both the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues.
After splitting the games in San Jose, the series shifts back to St. Louis with the series deadlocked at two games a piece.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks had everything going for them heading into Game 4.
They held a 2-1 edge and had a chance to capture all the momentum. After posting back to back shutouts, the Sharks defense completely collapsed. They allowed 6 goals in the Game 4 loss and Martin Jones was benched midway through the game.
Jones held a scoreless streak of 154 minutes before absolutely losing it.

San Jose does relish in these road opportunities and they have already proved that once in this series.
Joe Pavelski continues to be the leader of this offense, as he extended his point streak to 5 games. He’s tallied a pair of goals and 4 assists over that span.
While they were the best road team in the NHL this regular season, the Sharks are just 1-4 in their last 5 postseason road games.
St. Louis Blues
St. Louis has shown they are never out of anything this postseason.
They’ve had their backs against the wall on numerous occasions this postseason, but that hasn’t phased them one bit. Staring at a chance to go down 3-1 in the series, the Blues erupted for a 6 spot. This came on the heels of them getting shut out in back to back games.

Brian Elliot also came up huge. After allowing 7 goals in 2 games, Elliot did allow 3, but turned aside 31 shots as he set the tone in this one.
Now, St. Louis returns home to a place where they play their best hockey.
Look for RW Vladimir Tarasenko to be a key in this one. He has yet to record a point this series, but has played such a crucial part in the Blues run this postseason. If he can get it going, this St. Louis team will be hard to beat here in Game 5.
