Columbus has some momentum to start the 2020 calendar year. The Blue Jackets beat Boston in Boston on Thursday 2-1 as +195 favorites.
The Blue Jackets only scoring one goal in that tilt still has to be a bit concerning. Columbus has netted 2 goals or less in 3 of their last 4 overall and is just 26th in the NHL in goals scored.
Even with their scoring struggles, Columbus is still in striking distance of a playoff berth. That’s a huge testament to their defense and goaltending. It’s Elvis Merzlikins likely in net Saturday, and he’s just 1-4-4 on the year though.

The public actually likes the Sharks here to the tune of about 60%. It does seem like kind of a trap line in that Columbus isn’t a bit pricier. The Blue Jackets are still 7-0-3 in their last 10 though.
