Opening night can get sloppy, which makes the plus-money side more attractive to me. Pittsburgh still has enough finishers to punish defensive mistakes, especially if Philadelphia spends too much time chasing the game.
I’ll take the plus money with Crosby and a Pittsburgh team carrying a little postseason scar tissue into Philadelphia.
The Flyers have young talent and home ice, but their preseason offense never really found a comfortable rhythm. Pittsburgh showed more finishing ability, and I like the Penguins’ chances of making Philadelphia defend through all three periods.
This rivalry rarely needs extra fuel, and Pittsburgh already has plenty. Give me Penguins ML +120.
