The Dallas Stars have already punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals after a 4-1 series win over Vegas. Tampa Bay hopes to join them as they currently hold a 3-1 advantage over the Islanders in the Eastern Conference Finals.

New York hasn’t put up much of a fight in this series, struggling on both ends of the ice and only getting a 5-3 win in game three.
New York Islanders
New York was quickly put in their place after the big win in game three, dropping Sunday’s contest 4-1. The tally marked the 17th goal of the series for Tampa Bay as the Islanders have managed just four in their three losses.
Maybe there’s some hope for New York in game five as the season series between these two teams is just 4-3 in favor of the Lightning. The Islanders outscored TB 10-3 in two wins earlier in the regular season, but that was way back in November and December.
One thing that is certain is that for the Islanders to make this a series, they need a better performance from Semyon Varlamov. The New York goaltender has allowed 3+ goals in three of four games.
Tampa Bay Lightning
With Dallas closing out Vegas somewhat unexpectedly, game four has a newfound sense of urgency for the Lightning. Tampa Bay doesn’t want this series with NYI to drag out while the Stars rest.
One would think Tampa Bay certainly has a chance to end things on Tuesday. The Lightning have won 7 of the last 8 this postseason, scoring at least three goals in each of their wins.
As good as the Tampa Bay offense is, it’s the defense, specifically Andrei Vasilevskiy that gives them the edge in gme five. The Lightning goaltender has allowed 2 goals or less in six of his last seven outings.
