The NHL playoffs are officially underway. Lines are going live with the most up to date being at BOVADA & You can check out BODOG if you’re in Canada. NHL Props, series prices, and game by game NHL lines are posted.
A low scoring series between the Canadiens and Flyers will continue on Wednesday. Both teams are on the back-to-back after playing Tuesday, but it’s not like either have a ton of travel after being in Toronto for the past several weeks.
Every game in this series has gone ‘under’ the total thus far, and most of them rather easily. That trend continued on Tuesday with the Flyers scoring a 2-0 win to put Montreal on the brink of elimination.
The Canadiens seem to have had their fill of what should be considered a pretty successful postseason. Montreal was the last team allowed to the hub city of Toronto and ended up taking down Pittsburgh 3-1 in the elimination round.
Montreal has also played vs. the Flyers, who had 18 more points than the Canadiens during the regular season. The 2-0 loss on Tuesday was the biggest Montreal defeat of the series after two 1-goal losses.
Montreal also has a 5-0 win in game two and would probably be in this series if Carey Price had more of that offensive support. Price has allowed 5 goals total in 4 games yet still finds himself in a 1-3 hole.
Flyers goaltender Carter Hart was especially bad in the Montreal win, serving up 4 goals while facing just 26 shots. That seemed to be a wake-up call though as Hart has pitched back-to-back shutouts stopping 52 straight SOG.
Hart is a big reason why the ‘under’ continues to cash in this series. The Flyers haven’t scored more than two goals in a game in this series but can still move on with a win Tuesday.
There’s a good chance Montreal could simply ‘give up’ if they get down early in this one, especially on the back-to-back. Philly could add some cheap goals in that scenario but for the most part, game 5 looks like another close one.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Under is 9-0 in Flyers last 9 overall
- Favorite is 16-6 last 22 meetings
- Canadiens are 4-9 last 13 head to head meetings
Free Montreal Canadiens vs. Philadelphia Flyers NHL Prediction:
The only time an ‘over’ was close in this series was when Montreal almost hit it themselves in game 3.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Under 5
-115 isn’t a bad price to pay when low scores have been so consistent.
