Montreal is looking to bounce back after some recent struggles that have seen the team lose four of the last five games.
At home, the Predators will look to win despite the devastating loss of star defenseman P.K. Subban.
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have had a rough go of it lately, losing four out of their last five games, including a tough overtime loss to Pittsburgh on New Year’s Eve.
Montreal has been solid all year so it’s no time to panic for the Canadiens, but there is some cause for concern. Montreal will need all of its stars to step up and take care of a Nashville team that is arguably less talented.
Left winger Max Pacioretty has been wonderful for the Canadiens this year, posting 15 goals and 15 assists thus far. In his last five, he has two goals and two assists.

The Canadiens are still dealing with some tough injuries to center Alex Galchenyuk, who is out for at least another month, and Andrei Markov, who is out with no timetable for return. They also have to do without Andrew Sharp, due to concussion-like symptoms.
Montreal has the talent to beat the Predators and will hope that Nashville’s loss of P.K. Subban will make it that much easier for them on Tuesday night.
Nashville Predators
Injuries have been the bane of Nashville’s existence this year and it’s only gotten worse.
Star defenseman P.K. Subban will miss the next two to three weeks with a herniated disc in his back, and this really hurts Nashville on both sides of the ice.
Miikka Salomaki has missed all but two games this season with a lower body injury and defenseman Anthony Bitetto is on the injured reserve list with a broken hand.
Injuries have been a major factor in the average team play of the Preds. The team sits 16th in goals for and 12th in goals against, and really hasn’t been able to win a lot of games by a multiple-goal margin.
To win this game, Nashville will need the offense to step up. The Preds will need a lot from James Neal, who has been solid on the goal scoring front this year.
He has 14 goals this season, including two in his last five games.

The lack of depth due to injuries hurts the Predators and they’ll look to find any way to win against a solid Montreal Canadiens team.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Montreal is 1-2-2 in the last five games
- The OVER is 3-2-0 in Nashville’s last five games
