Both of these teams are coming off losing streaks and are hoping to get back in playoff contention. The fact of the matter is that’s a long road to haul for both of them, then add in that one of them has to lose this game.
The Sharks managed do snap a five game losing streak by defeating underperforming Chicago.
The Wild game from behind, two goals down to defeat Anaheim at home, breaking their three game streak.
Of the the recent performance of these two teams, you have to say the Wild appear to be the least worst.

Minnesota Wild
Goalie Devan Dubnyk (3.68 GAA, .883 save percentage) was not in goal against Anaheim, but will likely play against the Sharks. This will be his 500th game, will that be enough motivation to win?
At forward, centre Eric Staal seems to have found his scoring touch again, which will make. huge difference to Winnipeg’s goal production if it continues.
Left-winger Jason Zucker is already the Wild’s main reliable goal scorer, so look for him to contribute as well if they hope to have any chance at victory over the Shark’s defence.

San Jose Sharks
As noted, the Sharks still have a pretty decent defence, which will frustrate Minnesota’s limited offensive ability.
They also have the number one penalty kill in the league, which will allow them to play Minnesota aggressively, forechecking and breaking up scoring chances.
Free Minnesota Wild vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Prediction:
On paper the Wild do seem to be the least worst team, it may not translate into a victory. They won against Anaheim and have had a couple of days to rest before going into the shark tank, but San Jose is desperate for a win.
They especially want another win at home to convince fans (and probably themselves) they could still be a playoff team (hey it’s a long season, you got to hope for something).
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Sharks ML
In the end you have to like the Sharks at home. These teams are fairly evenly matched, so a homestead may be the edge that’s needed.
Add in Devan Dubnyk’s shaky goaltending for the Wild. Sure it’s his 500th game and wants the win to commemorate that, but that motivation doesn’t seem strong enough to bet on the Wild.
Take the Sharks and the under. The Sharks play a defensive game, and likewise the Wild will have a tough time getting to the Sharks net, so that doesn’t bode well for scoring chances on either side.
