With the Kings trying to snap a two-game losing streak, they head to Nashville to meet the Predators, who are on a two-game winning streak.
With the Kings in 5th place in the Pacific and the Predators 4th place in the Central, each team will look to win and gain points in their respective divisions.
Los Angeles Kings
After winning three of four, the Kings have lost their last two against the Bruins and the Blue Jackets.
In these two games, they have scored just two total goals and continue to have trouble finding a solid game on the offensive end.
Currently in 5th in the Pacific Division, the Kings still haven’t had much consistency in the win column after finishing the month of November on a five-game winning streak.
The Kings continue to struggle in the goal-scoring department.
The team is now 23th in the NHL in goals for (79), which has caused problems when trying to close out games. Luckily, the defense continues to be fantastic.
The Kings have allowed just 78 goals all year and sit in 7th in the NHL in goals against.
The Kings have played well and are extremely lucky to have a fantastic backup goalie in Peter Budaj, who is starting in place of the injured Jonathan Quick.
Captain Jeff Carter continues to be great for the Kings. His 14 goals and 10 assists lead the team, and he is a necessity night in and night out.
His play on the offensive side has been an important factor for Los Angeles and is a major reason why they are in the hunt in the Pacific Division.
The Predators have won their last two on the road after snapping a three-game losing streak at home. Back in Nashville, the Preds will look to take down the Pacific Division Los Angeles Kings.
Captain Mike Fisher has been wonderful for this Nashville team. In his last five games, he has four goals, adding to his tally for the year (9G, 9A).
His line-mate Viktor Arvidsson has been great as well. He has four assists in his last five games and is a key factor in one of the better 3rd lines in the NHL.
The Predators have a solid offense, sitting at 12th in the league in goals (89). The problem is, they don’t gain much ground on the defensive end.
They have given up 89 goals and sit 14th in the league in that category.
In order to beat the Kings, the defense will need to have a good game and limit an already mediocre goal-scoring team. Guys like Mike Fisher and Viktor Arvidsson will need to have solid contributions on the offensive end.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Nashville is 2-7 ATS in last nine games
- Los Angeles is 4-1 ATS in last five games
Free Los Angeles Kings vs. Nashville Predators NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Kings have a tough time scoring and Nashville is much better in that category. At home, Nashville should get a win.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Nashville -141
Nashville has struggled recently at home. However, against a team like the Kings that doesn’t score much, the Predators should take the W.
NHL Free Score Prediction: Los Angeles 2 – Nashville 3
Los Angeles struggles to score. With a decent Nashville defense, it will be even harder for them to score. I like the Predators to take the W at home.
