This isn’t Wayne Gretzky’s Oilers of the 1980s, but you sure could be forgiven for thinking so. Connor McDavid, along with Leon Draisaitl have been on a scoring tear.
Heading into the Shark Tank Tuesday they will be up against a seemingly demoralized Sharks team, who used to be know for play a tough physical game.
Are the Sharks really going to be door mats in their own rink. Will Edmonton roll over the Sharks with their young fast forwards, or will San Jose find a way to get back in the game?
Despite the disparity in their overall record both teams have won three of their last five, so this may be a closer game than people think.

San Jose Sharks
In goal for San Jose is the uninspiring Martin Jones. He is having a miserable season, surrendering 3.31 goals per contest, earning him a .888 save percentage
On the more positive side, captain Tomas Hertl has goals in three consecutive games and four of the last five. He leads the team with 18 points. But it’s left wing Evander Kane owns the team-high of 10 goals.
Offensive defenseman Brent Burns also has had 13 points in 13 games over October, but perhaps he, and the rest of San Jose’s defense should concentrating on just that, defense.
The Sharks are getting additional scoring from forward Timo Meier who has suddenly come alive with two goals and three assists in the last five games.
Free Edmonton Oilers vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Prediction:
On paper it would seem Edmonton is unstoppable. With potent scoring from their top two lines and the defense.
In their last five games their two losses cam to St. Louis who dominated, and a squeaker to Arizona. San Jose have to be looking at the latter as their blueprint for victory over the Oilers.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Oilers ML
Yes, obviously Edmonton can be beaten, and San Jose is on a bit of a streak having won their last three. But sometimes it just isn’t your night.
Edmonton is coming into to San Jose as a well-oil machine, and considering the Sharks’ porous goal tending, Edmonton should be lighting ups the goal net all night.
Take the good price on Edmonton and the over.
