The Edmonton Oilers will take the ice against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday in game four of the Western Conference Qualifying Round.
Chicago currently leads the series two games to one following a 4-3 win on Wednesday.
Edmonton Oilers
Mikko Koskinen is projected to be in the net for Edmonton in this one. On the season, Koskinen is 18-13-3 with a 2.75 GAA and a .917 save percentage. The Oilers have been able to fire off an average of 32 shots per game, finding the back of the net for an average of 3.14 goals a night.
Edmonton has been tough on the power play all season long, scoring on 29.5 percent of their opportunities. They have been just as tough while skating a man down with an 84.4 penalty kill percentage.
That number could be huge on Friday against Chicago.
Chicago Blackhawks
Corey Crawford is projected to be in the net for the Blackhawks on Friday, looking to improve his 16-20-3 record on the year. Crawford has a 2.77 GAA to go along with a .917 save percentage.
Scoring has been an issue from time to time this year for the Hawks. They have been able to take an average of 31.8 shots per game, scoring an average of 2.97 goals a night. The struggle has carried over to the power play with Chicago only scoring on only 15.2 percent of their opportunities.
They have been good this year for an 82.1 penalty kill percentage. They will need to be strong on the defensive end of the ice if they want to wrap the series up on Friday.
Free Edmonton Oilers vs. Chicago Blackhawks NHL Prediction:
I like this game staying under six and a half. Both teams are scoring an average right around three goals a game and giving up about the same number. That being said, Chicago put up four goals in the last game and I don’t see them doing that again.
I’m looking for Edmonton to even the series up and I think it needs to be a low scoring game for that to happen. My cash is on the total staying under six and a half.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Under 6.5
