The Edmonton Oilers will be on the road in Chicago on Monday taking the ice against the Blackhawks at the United Center. The Oilers have yet to lose a game this season and are fresh off a big win against the New York Rangers.
Chicago is facing just the opposite. They’re three games into the 2019 schedule and have yet to find the winner’s column. They were on the ice at home Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets and fell 2-3.
They will need to get something going on offense if they’re going to hand Edmonton their first loss of the year.
The Edmonton Oilers are now 5-0-0 after an impressive 4-1 win against the Rangers in New York on Saturday. The Oilers were able to take 27 shots in the game while holding New York to just 21. Each team was able to win 28 faceoffs.
The Oilers managed to find the back of the net on one of their two power-play opportunities and had a penalty kill each of the four times they skated with a man in the box.
Leon Draisaitl led the way for Edmonton with two goals. Both Connor McDavid and Oscar Klefbom were also able to put the puck in the net. The Oilers had six different skaters with an assist in the game.
Mike Smith was between the pipes with 20 saves against 21 shots. Connor McDavid currently leads Edmonton with 12 points, eight of them coming from assists.
The Chicago Blackhawks are still looking for their first win of the season after losing 3-2 in overtime against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Chicago was outshot 29-33 in the game and lost the faceoff battle 29-28.
They scored on one of their two power-play opportunities and gave up a goal one of the four times they were forced to skate shorthanded.
The Blackhawks led 2-0 at the end of the first period. Both Brandon Saad and Brent Seabrook were able to find the back of the net. Chicago simply came up with an answer for the Jets and gave up three unanswered goals.
NHL Betting Trends:

Free Edmonton Oilers vs. Chicago Blackhawks NHL Prediction:
I’m a numbers nerd. I studied statistics at the college level. Because of this, there’s no reason for me to bet against the Oilers in this game.
They have been able to score an average of 4.20 goals per game this season while giving up only 2.60.
Chicago is scoring three goals per night while giving up four on the defensive end of the ice. I don’t do this often, but I’m going to ignore the numbers and go my with my gut on this one.
The Blackhawks are outshooting Edmonton by almost five shots per game, 4.4 to be exact.
Edmonton isn’t going to win every game this year and eventually, Chicago is going to get hot. I think this happens on Monday.
