Two of the top Western Conference teams square off in Los Angeles Tuesday night as the Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings go at it inside the Staples Center.

Dallas was last in action on Saturday and came up just short in San Jose as the Sharks grabbed an overtime win.
As for the Kings, they were in Anaheim on Sunday night and came away with a rare win in 3-2 fashion.
Dallas
The Stars have been one of the most surprising teams in the NHL this season and that is thanks to their high energy offense that has no problem scoring.
Dallas had another 3 goal performance in Saturday’s loss as they have had no problem doing just that on a regular basis. The Stars are averaging a ridiculous 3.30 goals per game, which is in the top tier of the NHL.

Leading the way for this Stars offensive juggernaut is Jamie Benn. The Stars F has compiled 56 points on 26 goals and 30 assists.
However, the Stars have been a mess defensively and between the pipes. Goalie Antti Niemi has a GAA of 2.46, which isn’t all that bad, but the Stars defense has struggled mightily on the road. The Stars allow 3 goals per road game. That is certainly a number they’ll have to improve on if they hope to compete with the top teams in the Western Conference going forward.
Los Angeles
Wins have been hard to come by for Los Angeles in Anaheim, but it’s been that kind of season for the Kings.
They went into Anaheim and grabbed a huge victory as they held on for a 3-2 win and extended their league within the Pacific Division.
Los Angeles has exchanged wins and losses this month as they sit 4-3 in the month of January. With their hot start to the season, they currently have opened up a gap of 10 points between them and 2nd place Arizona.
Los Angeles is led by Anze Kopitar, who just recently signed an 80 million dollar extension. The Kings forward’s extension was well deserved as he leads the team in total points with 38. He’s done a little bit of everything for them as he has racked up 13 goals and 25 assists.
The Kings have been one of the best defensive teams in the NHL this season as they allow just 2.20 goals against per game this season.

Free NHL Hockey Prediction:
This a fairly generous opening price considering the Stars struggles lately. While they have been extremely surprising this season, they are starting to regress a little bit.
Los Angeles is having their most inconsistent month, but they still have found a way to have a winning record still. This Kings team is very good defensively and should be able to really frustrate the Stars here and shut them down.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Los Angeles ML
Look for the Kings to get out early at home and really put pressure on the Stars, not allowing them to get close to the net.
