Saturday afternoon, April 27th, brings you game two of the Western Conference semifinals as the Dallas Stars try to get one back when they face off against the St. Louis Blues, live from the Enterprise Center. Dallas is 2-3 in St. Louis in 2019.
Dallas Stars
The Stars played from behind for pretty much all of game number one after giving up an early goal at the 5:57 mark. Dallas came into this game with a lot of momentum after beating the Central’s best team, but couldn’t get it going in game one against the Blues, when even their round one MVP goalie looked lost at times.

Speaking of the goalie. Ben Bishop, who had been excellent in the first round, gave up what could be his weakest goal of the playoffs thus far. That first period goal by Robby Fabbri came with what looked like a clear sight line for Bishop, but he just couldn’t get down fast enough as the puck slid under his pads and into the net. A very un Bishop like goal against to say the least.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues definitely made the most of the scoring opportunities in game one, converting 20 shots into three goals, leaving what arguably was the round one’s best goaltender with a .850 save percentage in the series opener. RW Vladimir Tarasenko continued his hot streak by scoring two of the three Blues goals.

Jordan Binnington stopped 27 of the Stars 29 shots in game one. He let one of those shots in when he tried to lay flat on his back to cover the puck up for a whistle in the 3rd, but Jamie Benn was able to corral it away from the keeper and put it in the net to close the gap to 3-2.

Free Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues NHL Prediction:
Dallas let game one slip away from them, as their defense did its job of not letting St. Louis reel off too many shots, but this is a very different team than the Nashville Predators are. The Blues are clever with their scoring opportunities, and I expect to see more of that in game two.
Take the Stars to come away with a game two victory on the road, it’s not too often we see back to back off games from Ben Bishop.
