Blue Jackets vs. Blues Gameday
The Columbus Blue Jackets visit the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM ET, with coverage available through Blue Jackets Hockey Network and Blue Note+. Both teams are looking for a little early-season stability.
Columbus enters 2-1-0 under Rick Bowness.
The Blue Jackets arrive following a Friday night victory over Pittsburgh, leaving them with little recovery time before heading to St. Louis. Their young lineup has shown promise, particularly when the forecheck establishes pressure. Doing it on consecutive nights will be another test.
Columbus brings the better record, while St. Louis gets home ice and the advantage of additional rest.
St. Louis is 1-2-1 under Jim Montgomery. The Blues have lost three straight since winning their opener, although Thursday’s overtime defeat at least produced a standings point.
Columbus swept both meetings last season.
The Blue Jackets also took both games the previous regular season, giving them four consecutive victories against St. Louis. That’s a nice little streak for Columbus and a fairly annoying one for the home crowd. The Blues have an opportunity to change that history Saturday.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. St. Louis Blues Odds & Previous Games
St. Louis opened as a -129 moneyline favorite, with Columbus at +110. The Blue Jackets were +1.5 (-247) on the puck line, while the Blues were -1.5 (+196). The total was set at 5.5 goals.
That’s a number worth examining given the contrasting early results.
Columbus opened with a 6-3 win over Buffalo before losing 4-1 to Utah. The Jackets then defeated Pittsburgh 3-2 in a shootout Friday, with Kent Johnson scoring the deciding attempt. That gives Columbus two victories in three games.
St. Louis began with a 4-0 shutout of Dallas. The Blues followed with a 6-1 loss to Colorado, a 4-2 defeat against Chicago and a 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose.
That opening shutout feels like a distant memory already.
The results show why neither club is particularly easy to read. Columbus has experienced both wide-open and tightly contested games, while St. Louis has struggled to sustain its early defensive success. Compare the available totals and prices at your preferred sportsbooks before getting involved.

Blues Stats
St. Louis has scored nine goals through four games, with 12 assists. The Blues have converted one power-play opportunity, leaving considerable room for improvement with the extra skater. Their offense has been inconsistent despite several promising individual performances.
Connor McMichael leads the club with four points.
Mason McTavish and Dalibor Dvorsky have each scored twice, giving Montgomery some useful young finishers. McMichael has also supplied two goals and two assists. The challenge is getting that production spread across more than a handful of shifts.
Defensively, the Blues have allowed 13 goals through four games.
St. Louis has enough young offensive talent to compete, but the defensive coverage has been unreliable.
Joel Hofer recorded the team’s lone shutout against Dallas and has been the steadier goaltending option. Jordan Binnington surrendered six goals in his first appearance, an outing he’d probably prefer to forget.
Neither goalie has been confirmed as Saturday’s starter.
The Blues need better support around their crease, particularly when opponents attack with speed. Hofer has already demonstrated he can deliver a strong performance when the structure holds together. Maintaining that structure has been the difficult part.
Blue Jackets Stats
Columbus has scored nine actual goals in three games, supported by 16 assists. The Blue Jackets have generated plenty of offensive activity, including 45 shots against Pittsburgh. That kind of pressure gives Bowness reason to be encouraged by his team’s attacking play.
Matthew Knies leads Columbus with two goals and two assists.
Damon Severson contributed a goal and an assist Friday, while Mathieu Olivier also scored. Severson’s return from shoulder surgery gave the defensive group another experienced option. Contributions from different positions have helped the Jackets avoid relying entirely on one scoring line.
Columbus has also recorded 67 hits and 52 blocked shots.
Those numbers reflect a willingness to compete physically, although defensive execution has varied from game to game. Against Pittsburgh, the Jackets controlled long stretches of play before allowing their opponent back into the contest.
Cam Talbot made 20 saves in Friday’s victory.
Jet Greaves has played the other two games, giving Columbus a choice for Saturday’s assignment. The starting goalie has not been confirmed.
Columbus needs to protect the puck more carefully when transitioning out of its own zone. St. Louis has forwards capable of capitalizing on rushed decisions, and the Jackets cannot afford to hand them extra opportunities. Bowness will also have to manage his bench carefully on the second night of the back-to-back.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. St. Louis Blues bottom line: Columbus brings useful scoring depth into a matchup with a St. Louis team that has the talent to respond but still needs a more dependable defensive performance.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. St. Louis Blues Hockey Betting Trends

Blue Jackets Blues Free Pick: Over 5.5
Here is my Blue Jackets Blues free pick: Over 5.5 goals. I’m looking for six goals, not a hockey version of the NBA All-Star Game. This is a manageable number if both clubs contribute, and I see enough reasons to expect a few defensive breakdowns along the way. The schedule gives this total an interesting twist. Columbus played Friday night, and a quick turnaround can make those defensive assignments a little less precise.
Fresh legs are wonderful, assuming somebody remembered to pack them.
St. Louis has had time to regroup after a frustrating start. I expect the Blues to attack rather than spend another evening waiting for the perfect opportunity.
My Over 5.5 play is built around an aggressive home response and a visiting team that may struggle to maintain its defensive pace for 60 minutes.
Here’s the game script I want: St. Louis pushes early, Columbus answers, and neither side gets comfortable sitting on a lead. A one-goal game heading into the third would be especially useful because the trailing team has every reason to open things up.
Special teams and late-game situations offer two more ways to get there. One costly penalty can swing the scoring, while an empty-net opportunity can turn five goals into six without much warning. I don’t need both offenses firing on every cylinder. A 3-3 game gets the job done, and a 4-2 finish works just as well.
No bonus points for artistic impression.
I’ll take the six-goal target and trust the game to open up enough.
I’m on Blue Jackets vs. Blues Over 5.5.
