The Colorado Avalanche, losers of six of their last seven games, travel to the capital of Tennessee to face a Nashville team hungry to make the playoffs.
Colorado Avalanche
Not much can be said for the Colorado Avalanche this year, except for maybe “When is this season over?” It’s been a nightmare of a season for the Avs, who own the league’s worst record by a substantial margin.
With only 35 points, Colorado is more than 10 points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the NHL’s worst record.

Offense and defense have both been colossal failures for Colorado, who comes into this game dead last in both goals scored and goals allowed.
Nathan McKinnon, Colorado’s lone All Star, leads the Avalanche with 39 points. The Avs remain one of the few NHL teams without a 40-point scorer on the roster, and the team has just two skaters with at least 30 points.
Colorado has scored fewer than three goals in 13 of its last 15 games, a representation for how the offense has performed all season. Without any playmakers or a goaltender worthy of being a starter, it’s easy to see why the Avs have occupied the NHL’s cellar the whole year.
Nashville Predators
The Predators handed the Columbus Blue Jackets a rare home loss on Sunday by defeating them 4-3. It was a great win for the Preds and backup netminder Juuse Saros, who stopped 35 of 38 shots in the win.
Nashville is now 7th in the West and only three points behind St. Louis for 6th. The Predators have to be feeling good about themselves in this game, as they’ll take on a Colorado team they’ve absolutely owned this season.

Nashville is 4-0 against the Avs and has averaged 4.25 goals per game in those wins. While the Preds are 8-9-1 against the rest of their divisional foes, they’ve had no problem taking care of the lowly Avalanche.
The Predators are in striking distance of the Blues as they look to secure that 3rd place spot in the Central, and a win against the Avalanche would help get them closer to that spot.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Avalanche are 9-19-1 on the road.
- Avalanche are 3-15 SU in their last 18 games.
- Avalanche are 0-4 SU vs. the Predators this year.

Free Colorado Avalanche vs. Nashville Predators NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Predators have owned the Avalanche all year, and that domination should continue in this game. Colorado has nothing to play for, while Nashville is eyeing the prestigious 3rd-place spot in the Central Division.
Nashville has also outscored Colorado 17-9 in four meetings so far.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Nashville -1.5
