Another Central Division matchup will see the Chicago Blackhawks continuing their road trip in Winnipeg, taking on the Jets.
Winnipeg, coming off a 4-2 loss in its last game against the Minnesota Wild, will look to get a win in front of its home fans on Friday night.
The win against the Wild on Wednesday was a great boost of momentum for the Blackhawks but the team still blew a two-goal lead. Regardless of whether the refs blew calls that led to the goals or not, there’s no denying that this Chicago team has had some poor moments in 3rd periods recently.
Keep an eye on this against a team like the Jets that isn’t that good. Chicago should be able to win this game without too much trouble, but the team needs to play three solid periods of hockey to do so.
The hero of Wednesday night was Jonathan Toews. With people around the hockey world saying he’s regressed and that the Blackhawks should trade him, the captain has had his best stretch of the season over the past seven games. He has 11 points (4G, 7A) in his last seven games, including the game-winner in overtime against the Wild.
The surprise for the Blackhawks recently has been 22-year old left wing Ryan Hartman.
Hartman has really come into his own this year and is on pace for a 20-goal season. He has 13 goals and 10 assists, including a goal in each of his last three games.
Patrik Laine. Mark Schiefele. Blake Wheeler. These are the guys that can go out and lead the Jets to victory, but they can’t always do it alone. There’s no denying that these three forwards are the most important players for Winnipeg.
Rookie Patrik Laine has been stellar all year. He has 23 goals and 20 assists on the season, including two goals and three assists over his last five games. When Laine gets going, his speed is unmatched and he can get to the net so easily.
Mark Schiefele continues to be brilliant for the Jets. He’s having the best season of his career, scoring 25 goals and 28 assists. He leads his team with 53 total points, including seven in his last five games (4G, 3A).
And let’s not forget about captain Blake Wheeler. He’s been an important veteran leader for the Jets and has had some great offensive moments.
Wheeler has a goal and five assists in his last five games, giving him 16 goals and 30 assists on the season.
NHL Betting Trends:

Free Chicago Blackhawks vs. Winnipeg Jets NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Jets have some great individual pieces but haven’t figured out a way to consistently win as a team. Even through Chicago’s shaky 3rd periods recently, the Blackhawks have looked like a stronger team than the Jets. Chicago gets the W in this one.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Chicago -120
Chicago has gained some momentum recently, especially after Wednesday’s overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild. I expect the Hawks to get another win over a Central Division squad.
The Chicago money line is a good pick here.
