The Blackhawks might have picked the wrong night to match up with Nashville as the Predators are coming off an unheard of 0-3 loss to Arizona. The Predators have lost 3 of 4 including 2 of 3 at home so in actuality maybe the timing is right for Chicago to steal one from a playoff contender in a funk?
Chicago Blackhawks
For as bad as the Predators have looked over the last week, Chicago doesn’t exactly exude confidence in bettors. The ‘Hawks have lost 4 of 5 and their defense has allowed 18 goals the past three games. That doesn’t bode well Saturday vs. a Predators team that is top 10 in SOG and scores 3.2 goals per game. Chicago starts Corey Crawford in goal for the 2nd time in three nights and he’s allowed 20 goals total the last four starts. Keep an eye on that ‘over’ 5.5.

The Chicago offense simply can’t keep up with their poor defense right now. The Blackhawks dropped a 5-6 decision to Winnipeg on Thursday which was an offensive explosion considering they’ve been held to 2 goals or less in 6 of 10. Chicago has the worst power play unit in the NHL and could be completely stonewalled by Nashville’s top 5 defense.
Nashville Predators
So what’s up with the Predators lately? The 0-3 loss came when Nashville was listed as a -235 favorite. The offense certainly isn’t doing the Preds any favors, being limited to 2 goals or less in three of the last four. Nashville managed just 29 shots on Thursday but put up 38 the game before and still lost to Colorado 2-3 as -160 favorites. Luckily the Blackhawks defense (30th in goals against) is good for what ails teams lately.

Pekka Rinne is also looking for a bounce back game in net after surrendering three goals to the Coyotes on just 25 shots. His .935 save percentage is still one of the best in the league but that’s 3 goals allowed in back-to-back games. The Preds have confidence that their goaltender can return to the form that allowed only 6 scores total in the four games prior.
NHL Betting Trends:

Free Chicago Blackhawks vs. Nashville Predators NHL Prediction:
Chicago is in a rough spot on Saturday especially with suspect goaltending and the fact that they’re playing their second road game in three nights. This will be the third straight home contest for Nashville.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Nashville PL (-1.5)
The Predators are just too much for Chicago’s defense that is not only fatigued…but bad.
