In this matchup tomorrow night we see a classic original six matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden. Chicago has had let’s just say, better campaigns to say the least.
One riddled in scandal and lacklustre play, this organization is ready to put this one to bed. Having said that. their top line of Kane, Debrincat and Strome has been on fire in the last 10 games.
The Bruins have had their struggles with scoring depth and goaltending, but this is still a strong squad with a great record. They are just stacked up against even better competition in their conference and will have to fight tooth and nail for a playoff seeding.
So, let’s just dig further into the schematics of this one and see what we like.
Chicago Blackhawks
It is tough for me to say anything good about the Blackhawks. It was a tough pill to swallow when my beloved Oilers traded Caleb Jones to them for Duncan Keith who has been awful.
And even worse knowing now his involvement in the Beach case. Toews, Kane and the others who I heralded as the cream of the crop during their dynasty days.

With that out of the way, as a handicapper, my opinion isn’t any more favorable. they are 10-14-4 on the road this year and 4-5-1 in their last 10. Tied for 26th in the NHL in goals per game with 2.56.
Not much going right for the Blackhawks these days and I do not anticipate any light at the end of the tunnel.
Boston Bruins
The Bruins are a tough evaluation for me. This is still a damn solid roster on paper that lacks some scoring depth. But an addition at the deadline would make this team look like a perennial contender.
I expect them to be active at the deadline to address some needs as they are likely to make the playoffs. They have been linked to JT Miller in recent weeks.
In terms of their play as of late they are looking great. 7-2-1 in their last ten and despite Swayman and the question marks surrounding his campaign he has been solid as of late.
