These two teams met on New Year’s Eve this pat year in a game the Blackhawks came out on top in by a score of 5-3, so Calgary is likely in for another tough fought battle here this Tuesday.
Calgary Flames
This Flames team did lose to the Blackhawks on New Years Eve, but since then they have rattled off two straight, so they should have some momentum going into this one as they look to avenge that loss. This team certainly has the personnel to get the job done here, as well, with guys like Sean Monohan, Elias Lindholm and Johnny Gaudreau among their ranks.
David Rittich should get the start in this match and he has been okay, but he does not give you a ton of confidence when he goes up against elite teams with elite offenses. Thankfully for hi he is not in that type of matchup here today and he should be in a decent enough spot to have a good game.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks have had a poor season thus far and that is unlikely to change this Tuesday, as the Flames have a superior team from top to bottom. They do, however, still have Patrick Kane who has been a beast this year with 24 goals and 30 assists in just 43 games.
Corey Crawford is projected for the start here and he has also seen better seasons as he now has a GAA in excess of 3 and with the offensive firepower on the other side of the ice this Tuesday that number very well could get worse.
