Two young up-and-coming teams will do battle at the ACC, with the Buffalo Sabres making the quick drive to face their division rivals in Toronto.
It will be a battle of top-young talent, seeing former #2 overall pick face-off against last summer’s #1 overall pick, Auston Matthews.
Buffalo Sabres
It’s been a tough season in Buffalo, who made moves in the off-season in effort to have their young core gain some playoff experience and the recent additions to help build toward a title in the coming years.
The team is not quite there as of now, though it should be noted that more help is on the way.
Approaching the trade deadline, Buffalo will certainly be a team to watch, as GM Tim Murray has never been shy of making a big splash.

Rumors have swirled around the likes of forwards Evander Kane and Brian Gionta, primarily, with Matt Moulson also being a possible target.
Jack Eichel is continuing to prove himself in the class of the new waves of young star forwards.
He’s registered 13 goals and 13 assists in 33 games played this season since returning from the ankle injury that kept him out for over a month.
Eichel, while playing in 20 less games, actually only sits two points behind team-leader, Kyle Okposo, who was signed in the off-season to flank the young pivot.
Ryan O’Reilly continues to be an important acquisition for the team, playing the most minutes of any forward in any situation.
The goaltending in Buffalo has been a bright spot this season, with both starter Robin Lehner, and back-up Anders Nilsson, owning SV%s north of .920.
Lehner owns a .923 SV% and a 2.57 GAA on the year in 13 appearances, where Nilsson is just slightly below at .922 and 2.67, respectively.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Two Maple Leafs’ forwards are stating their case for Rookie of the Year honors, as Mitch Marner leads the team with 46 points and Auston Matthews has 25 goals and 44 points.
The two young players are the building blocks for the Leafs up front, and are certainly safe come trade deadline.
Rumors continue to swirl around fellow young forward, William Nylander, who has collected 36 points of his own on the year.
James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak, and Jake Gardiner have all heard their names mentioned as possible trade candidates heading into March. JVR is tops of that group in points with 43.

The blueline will be built around young defender, Morgan Reilly, who has tallied 21 points in 47 games played. Nikita Zaitsev also looks like a fixture on the back-end along with Reilly, as the young Russian has performed admirably in a Leafs uniform.
Goalie, Frederik Andersen, was acquired to be the Leafs netminder for now and the future.
He owns a .915 SV% and a 2.79 GAA on the year with 22 wins.
