An Atlantic Division matchup sees the Boston Bruins head to Tampa to take on the Lightning.
With just a single win over the last five games, the Lightning continue to have a rough season, but will look to grab a win over the 3rd place Boston Bruins.
Boston Bruins
Coming off of two straight wins going into the All-Star Break, the Boston Bruins sit 3rd in the Atlantic Division and are cemented in the playoff race. However, every game matters for this team and they’ll want to make sure not to slip up and take themselves out of the race.
Games against division rivals are most important and Tuesday night against the Lightning is not exception.

Boston isn’t particularly flashy on either side of the ice. The team ranks 20th in goals scored and 14th in goals against.
Boston isn’t a great team but has played well enough to gut out some wins and has the good fortune of playing in a weak division.
Left wing Brad Marchand has been a key factor for the Bruins. He has 21 goals and 28 assists this season, including four goals and two assists over his last five games.
A lot of the offense has been generated by not just Marchand, but also David Pastrnak. Pastrnak has 20 goals and 18 assists on the year. Over his previous five games, he has a goal and four assists.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Injuries have plagued the Lightning all season and, while things have gotten slightly better on that front, Tampa Bay is still without its best player and leader Steven Stamkos.
For those unaware, Stamkos is out until mid-March after having knee surgery. By that time, the playoff hopes of Tampa Bay will likely be over unless the team can find a way to start winning without him.
For that to happen, right wing Nikita Kucherov is going to have to continue playing like the star he’s becoming. Kucherov, an All-Star this year, has 19 goals and 25 assists.

On the left side, winger Jonathan Drouin is playing extremely well too. He has 14 goals and 17 assists this season, including one of each over his last five games.
That recent run isn’t going to be enough and the Lightning will look for more from him as the season continues.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Boston is 0-5 ATS in the last five games
- Tampa Bay is 5-1 ATS over the last six games
Free Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Hockey Prediction:
While I don’t love Boston’s play on either side of the ice, the Bruins have shown that they can gut out wins even without a particularly potent offense. Look for Brad Marchand to light the lamp against a poor Tampa defense. Boston gets the W here.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Boston ML
It’s tough to bet against a decent team playing the Lightning this year. As average as Boston has looked at times, the team should look pretty solid against a poor team like Tampa Bay. The Boston money line is a solid pick here.
