The Boston Bruins take on the Philadelphia Flyers this Friday in a game between two of the better teams in the NHL, as both of these teams come into this contest with excellent records, and they have both passed the eye test at this early stage of the season.
Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins have been cruising in recent times with 6 wins and only 1 loss to the equally solid Washington Capitals in their last 7 games. The veterans have been the ones getting the job done this year in the absence of David Pastrnak who has only played 3 games on the season, which is a big time hit for this Bruins team, as his production is hard to replace. Bergeron and Marchand have picked up the slack and have now combined for 29 points with 6 goals apiece and they will look to stay hot in this matchup with Philadelphia.
Pastrnak was able to return last night for the Bruins, however, and he was already back to showing his class tying the game with seconds left in order to help lift the Bruins to an overtime win in the first game of this 2 game series.
Philadelphia Flyers
If you watch the highlights, that last loss was rough for Philly, as they seemingly had it in the bag, and I thoroughly I expect this team to come out strong looking to avenge that loss. James van Riemsdyk is leading this team in points and has been solid, but the biggest surprise contributor on the offensive side of things has been Jakub Voracek who has 3 goals and 8 assists which is impressive, as it looked like his career was winding down a bit.
Carter Hart is projected to get the start in net, and it has to be said he has not been at his best with a 3.41 GAA and a sub .900 save percentage and he will need to be a whole lot better than that against a Bruins offense with Pastrnak in the mix.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Bruins are 5-0 in their last 5 Friday games.
- Bruins are 6-1 in their last 7 games as a favorite.
- Bruins are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record.

- Bruins are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
Free Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers NHL Prediction:
The Boston Bruins are the better put together team, and although the Bruins stole that last game I still think it is possible for them to double up here and win the second game of this series. Pastrnak is not back in the mix and the Bruins are in general getting healthier which should be music to the ears of Bruins fans.
They also have the advantage in goal with Rask who has not been at his best either, but has been preforming significantly better than Carter Hart.
