The Ducks managed to tie the series at one with a strong effort in game 2, topping the Preds 5-3. They started out slow once again, going down 2-0 early in the first period but managed to claw their way back.
Nashville Predators
The Preds made some costly mistakes in game 2, allowing some missed coverage goals that ultimately led to a 5-3 loss. Ryan Johansen was in the right spot on Jacob Silfverberg’s goal but failed to pick up the stick and led to the tying goal.

Johansen sounded frustrated in his post-game interview and had some harsh words for Ryan Kesler, who has been blanketing him all series.
Johansen still managed to lead the team with a goal and assist in game 2, but it should be interesting to see if Kesler has any retribution planned.
The backend didn’t chip in any points in game 3. The Preds will certainly need some contributions from their blueline, as it is one of the best in the league.
Pekka Rinne had an off night on Sunday, allowing 5 goals and seeing his road record fall to 4-3 these playoffs. Luckily for Nashville, he’s been excellent at home and the Preds will rely on a rebound from him in game 3 at home.
Anaheim Ducks
Ryan Getzlaf was at it again, tallying 3 points in the comeback victory for the Ducks. Getzlaf now sits just one point back of Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin for the playoff scoring lead.
Jacob Silfverberg was a key piece in the deal that sent Ottawa’s game 1 hero, Bobby Ryan, to the Senators. Silfverberg has settled in nicely alongside Getzlaf, and is tied for the playoff lead in goals with 9.
Cam Fowler looked at peak form in game 2, possibly showing that he is nearly back to full health after missing the first series. Fowler had some excellent rushes, and the smooth skater will be a key figure for Anaheim moving forward.

John Gibson stopped 30 of 33 shots in game, and now sits with a 2.80 GAA and a .911 SV% for the playoffs.
His play moving forward will be critical to Anaheim’s success, as he has been up and down all playoffs.

4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Nashville -135
Pekka Rinne looks like a completely different goalie in front of the crowd in the home yellow, look for a big rebound game from him after allowing a five-spot in game 2.
