Early on in Ivy League play, both the Yale Bulldogs and Brown Bears are tied for 4th in the league at 1-1. This will be a game that both sides will be looking to take in order to bump up in the standings a bit.
Yale Bulldogs
Yale hasn’t been having nearly as good of a season as it did a year ago. With six losses already this year, the Bulldogs almost certainly won’t finish at the impressive 23-7 that they did last year.
The Bulldogs’ offense hasn’t been as great as last year’s squad. The team ranks 173rd in the nation in points per game, scoring just about 74.5 points per contest.
Yale has five players who average double figures this season, but can’t seem to find a solid group of role players to help finish the job night in and night out.

Sophomore guard Alex Copeland has been the team’s best scorer. He’s averaging just shy of 14 points per game and is shooting 50% from the field. He also shoots a decent 40% from 3-point range.
He’s had some solid help from freshman guard Miye Oni, who is showing some solid skill in his first year of college ball. He’s scoring 12.5 points per game on 43% shooting.
Brown Bears
Like Yale, Brown is 1-1 in Ivy League play and sits tied for 4th. The Bears have had some good showings in the early goings of the season, but were absolutely demolished by Princeton in their Ivy League opener.
Defensively, Brown has left much to be desired. The Bears give up 77.1 points per game, putting them 285th in the nation. The defense gave up 97 points to the Princeton Tigers, something that even that best offenses would have a tough time overcoming.
On offense, it’s been senior guard Steven Spieth – PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth’s brother – who has led the way. He is averaging 15.1 points per game on 50.6% shooting, and grabbing just over six rebounds along with that.

He’s also been fantastic from the line, shooting 88.3% on his free throws.
The supporting cast really hasn’t been there, as only one other player averages double-figures in points. Brown will definitely need other players besides Spieth to step up in order to down the Yale Bulldogs.
CBB Betting Trends:
- The OVER is 3-2 in Yale’s last five games
- Yale is 3-6 on the road this season
- Brown is 8-1 at home this season
Free Yale Bulldogs vs. Brown Bears NCAAB Prediction:
Yale was able to hold Princeton to 66 points, something the defense has been able to do to multiple teams. Yale should have an advantage here and I think the Bulldogs will take the W on the road.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Yale ML
Yale has five guys who can score in double-figures each night. Brown has two. Look for Yale to key in on Steven Spieth, limit his chances, and stifle that Brown offense. I like the Yale money line in this one.
NCAAB Free Score Prediction: Yale 71 – Brown 66
