Friday night is always a bit light on college hoops but this Friday we have some MACtion.
Central Michigan is not an elite team but they are very exciting to watch with their brisk pace of play.
Western Michigan is at the bottom of the MAC West standings but are coming off a win.
Western Michigan Broncos
The MAC is not an elite basketball conference but there are some really good teams in it. Western Michigan is just 3-6 but the spread from top to bottom in the West is just three games.
Thomas Wilder has followed up last year’s breakout campaign with another strong season averaging 18ppg. He is coming off a season high 29 points in their last game, a win against Ohio.
He and Tucker Haymond form one of the most experienced and productive backcourts in the conference.

Inside Drake LaMont and Seth Dugan have the size but do not produce much. It will be interesting to see how they do in this game which should be played at a fast pace.
Western will look to slow things down but their defense is probably not good enough to do so.
WMU presents an interesting challenge to CMU. They are going to have to score but do not want to get too caught up in a back and forth game.
Central Michigan Chippewas
There is no doubt that CMU is one of the most exciting teams to watch. They are 4th in scoring in the country.
Marcus Keene is averaging 30ppg in his first year in the system. He is one of the most explosive players in the nation with four 40+ point games but on some nights it just isn’t enough.
He and backcourt mate Braylon Rayson are both 5’9″ and average a combined 50ppg. They are tough to contain but at the same time have their limitations.

The rest of the team is just there to try and play some defense and rebound the ball. That might be an exaggeration but no other player averages even 10ppg. They are free to shoot though.
CMU is not shy about their style and is trying to use it to bridge the gap. They are who they are and they can be tough to stop.
