West Virginia has the early lead in the B12 in part because of an earlier home win against the Jayhawks, who pretty much always win this thing.
Kansas definitely has to win this one at home to get back into position to further their current streak of league titles. This is a must win.
West Virginia Mountaineers
WVU is the surprise early leader at about the midway point of the regular season.
This is no scheduling quirk either as they have beaten good teams such as Kansas at home and Iowa State on the road. They nearly won at Oklahoma too, losing by two. Things get real though with a second half date at Kansas.
I am not totally sold on this program being truly elite but if they beat the Jayhawks twice I will have to re-evaluate.
The Mointaineers love to make you uncomfortable and they do so by making your guards work.
They have a plethora of aggressive perimeter players but I really think the key for them is the steadiness they get inside from Devin Williams.
His numbers may not look like a lot at 13/9 but when you factor in that he plays only 24mpg you can see the impact.
In the biggest games he is often their best player – he had 17/18 in a road win over ISU.
Kansas may be looking up at WVU in the standings but I am sure they have this date circled on the calendar to try and even things up. They are perfect at home this season.
KU is the rare elite team that is not relying much on frosh to get things done. Their trio of Perry Ellis, Frank Mason and Wayne Selden are super talented but also have experience.
Ellis is leading the team in scoring with his steady play but it is the backcourt of Selden and Mason that can make this team special.
On some nights Seldon looks like the best player in America. His consistency is up.
Betting against Kansas at home is not very wise. They almost never lose but they are just 6-4 ATS this season.
This one could be close because WVU just doesn’t back down. It is hard to break their will.
CBB Betting Trends:

Free CBB Prediction:
I am still not totally sold on WVU. I know they are well coached but are they this good.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: KU -7
Backing Kansas seems like the smart play here. Look for them to close out strong and cover.
