Due to their ability to not remain consistent on the offensive end, the Virginia Tech Hokies find themselves the 4th seed within the East Regional. And while they were able to pick up a victory over the Miami Hurricanes in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament, they were edged in the following round by the Florida State Seminoles as they fell by 2 points in overtime.
After a disastrous first half which saw the Billikens go down by nine points at the break, St Louis was able to pull things together in the second half on both ends of the court versus the Bonnies of Saint Bonaventure. In fact, St Louis posted 30 points while allowing just 19 for St. Bonaventure during this time while picking up the low-scoring, two point winn along with the Atlantic 10 championship as a 6th seed.
Saint Louis Bilikens
The Saint Louis Billikens were able to pick up their for straight victory as they grinded out a hard-fought victory over a solid St Bonaventure Bonnies team in the Atlantic 10 championship game. And while the Bonnies were certainly in control at the break, St Louis hunkered down on the defensive and ( as they have done all season), to seize control of the game as well as the championship in the end.

Jordan Goodwin led Saint Louis with 16 points while leading scorer on the season in Javon Bess ended with 11 points. Goodwin also grabbed 14 rebounds during the contest as he recorded his second double-double in four games for the Billikens.
Goodwin is averaging 11 points per game along with seven rebounds this season while Javon Bess is the most talented and versatile guard at 6’6” for St Louis as he is posting 15 points per game along with seven rebounds.
The Billikens have had success versus Virginia Tech in the past that as they were able to pick up a six-point victory in their last matchup in November of 2017. St Louis shot 47% in this contest while holding Virginia Tech to 40% on the night as Hill ended with 26 points while Alexander Walker along with Blackshear Jr struggled in going a combined 4-12 from the floor.
Virginia Tech Hokies
For a Virginia Tech team that shoots 39% from three-point range on the season, they were as cold as ice versus the Seminoles of Florida State as they ended at only 21% for the night. And while they were not overly spectacular from the perimeter as a team in shooting just 44%, they allowed for Florida State to shoot only 38% as a team while connecting on 12 3-pointers on the night.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 21 points in the defeat for the Hokies while Kerry Blackshear jr. along with Ahmad Hill chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively. It will be fair to note that each of these individuals went a combined 4-14 from long-range during the contest.

Alexander-Walker, however, remains to be a huge threat for the Hokies in shooting 39% from long-range as well as 48% from the perimeter. Six foot ten inch Kerry Blackshear jr. is also posting 15 points per game along with seven rebounds and has certainly increased his offensive output after a short lull in his performances to end the regular season.
Finally, Ahmad Hill (13 ppg) is also a threat on the offensive end and can certainly stretch the defense in shooting 39% from the floor. And while the offense for Virginia Tech tends to get most of the credit for their season success, the defense has allowed opponents to score only an average of 62 points per game on 40% shooting throughout the season.

Free Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Saint Louis Bilikens NCAAB Prediction:
The Hokies will find their fair share of issues looking to find scoring opportunities versus this Bilikens defense. And while Virginia Tech is known for its ability to hold teams to 40%, Saint Louis is also allowing 40% to teams as well on the year.
With that being said, expect for this to be a low-scoring affair to where the Bilikens will keep close throughout due to their ability to limit quality looks for the Hokies. In all, look for Saint Louis to represent well in this showdown, yet they will fall by a 69-65 score in the end.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Saint Louis +9.5
As stated, Hokies have played well on offense all year long. Yet, they continue to have a tendency to stink it up on this end, particularly versus teams with solid defenses. Nonetheless, the Bilikens have struggled too much on offense s they will not be able to keep up the with the Hokies in the end.
