Overall, I would say that it has been a good season for Villanova. I really want to see what this team can do once the tournament rolls around.
The Wildcats picked up an impressive win on Tuesday against the Providence Friars by a score of 76-74. That is two times they knocked off that team this year, which cleary is no easy thing to do.
To me, they are not as dominant this year as they have been in past years, but that is not to say they are not a very good and dangerous team. Once March Madness starts, there probably are not going to be many teams that would want to face this group.
Caleb Daniels was the leading scorer for these guys in their last game with 20 points. Also, Collin Gillespie had 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Butler Bulldogs
Unlike their opponent, it has not been all that great of a year for Butler. They just have not been able to find that a groove that a team always aims to hit and their only shot at making it to the madness is by winning the Big East, which is very unlikely.
Right now, the Bulldogs have a record of 13-17. As you can see, they just have not been consistent enough in this campaign.
This club last played on February 26th, where they lost to the Marquette Golden Eagles by a score of 64-56. It will only get harder for them on Saturday when they try and knock off the Wildcats.
Considering the kind of offense that the Golden Eagles have, I liked the way this team played defense in their last game, but the offense was not good enough. Rarely will a team be able to score under 60 points and get wins in college hoops.
