VCU Rams
Even without Shaka Smart the Rams were one of the top teams in the A10 and won their first round matchup over Oregon State. Now is where things really get interesting.
The Rams M.O. is to really get after you with energy and toughness. It will be interesting to see how the Sooners respond to a program that is scrappy like that. VCU is great at getting opponents out of their game.
VCU got big games from their most important players in the opening win. Mo Allie-Cox went for 20/8 against OSU and JeQuan Lewis had 21 points with 8 assists and seven boards.
They were only 4 for 20 from deep against the Beavers. That is going to have to improve if they want to win this one.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma had a great regular season and the expectations are high for this squad that might be the second best team in the Tournament after Kansas.
The Sooners may have won by a decent margin in their opener but they did not dominate against Cal-State Bakerfield. They should have but some teams need that first game to get the adrenaline going.
The Sooners are one of the most gifted offensive teams in the country and this will be a test to see if they can get things going against a team that will fight them for every inch on the floor.
Buddy Hield is one of the signature characters of this season and with Denzel Valentine out probably the best player left in the Tourney. He scored 27 in the opener and that could be just an appetizer for a delicious run over the next few days.
