The USC Trojans are sitting in sixth place within the Pac-12 with a record of 8-8. However, instead of the Trojans attempting to increase their positioning within the conference, they have dropped five of their last seven games entering this matchup with the Utes.
The Utes have had a rough go of it lately as well. They are currently in a three-way tie for fourth-place within the conference as they maintain the tie-breaker over the Oregon State Beavers, yet, will need to win their final two games of the season while praying for at least a loss for the Bruins, who they meet in their last game of the season.

Jonah Matthews along with Boatwright led the team with 18 and 17 points yet the Trojans struggled from the perimeter while also allowing the Utes to get to the free-throw line much too frequently in defeat.
Utah Utes
The Utes shot 46% in their last meeting versus the Trojans as Both Gach led the team with 15 points in the victory. Jayce Johnson also contributed 13 points to the winning effort while leading scorer on the season in Sedrick Barefield struggled on the night while also chipping in a hard-earned 13 points.
Barefield was not overly stellar in his last outing versus the Colorado Buffaloes, however, led the team with 19 points while going just 2-8 from long-range. Donnie Tillman poured in 14 points in the victory while Gach ended with 12 points while going 0-5 from three-point range in a game where the Utes could not find any type of consistency throughout in their second of three road losses.

Barefield (17 ppg) may only shoot 41% from the floor per night, however, is dangerous from long-range in shooting a tad under 40% on the season. Utah will now return home to where they have dropped three of their last four, overall.
