In reality, it has not been the best of seasons for Syracuse so far. They just have never seemed to be able to put it all together, while a lot of other teams have been able to.
The Orange took care of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Monday by a score of 74-73. It certainly was not a pretty win, but they did what they needed to do against a team that is simply not very good.
Even in an ACC that has not been great this year, I still have not been all that impressed with this bunch. At best, I think they are an average team.
In the overtime win on Monday, the leading scorer for this squad was Jimmy Boeheim, who had 20 points and 10 boards. Also, Cole Swider chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
They may be doing it in a quiet fashion, but Notre Dame has played well for the most part this season. I have liked the brand of basketball that they have put on display.
The Fighting Irish come into this ball game with a record of 19-8. Getting win number 20 of the season will not come easy, but it is very possible if they are on their game.
This program lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday by a score of 79-74. They will need to get back on track when they host Cuse on Wednesday.
Their last loss was certainly a tough one to drop, as they held a 6 point lead at the half, but got outscored by a 11 point margin in the second half. Even though it was a good opponent, those sorts of things cannot happen.

Sure, 5 is not the largest number in the world to lay, but I do not like Notre Dame here. They may win the game, but I am not sold on them getting the cover.
