Kentucky has been mostly running roughshod over the SEC but South Carolina could be a team that could given them a little push back.
The question is can they play well on the road at Rupp – a pretty daunting task.
This is a very good but not perfect Kentucky team. They need to be challenged and maybe this can be one.
South Carolina Gamecocks
Sindarius Thornwell for MVP. That seems a little out there but the Gamecocks have not lost a game with him in the line up this season.
The senior is averaging 18ppg and was critical in the big wins that SC had in the nonconference that helped them build their profile.
Thornwell and PJ Dozier give the Gamecocks as productive a pair of wing players as their in in the SEC. Between them they average 32ppg and they are both good athletes.

Inside they are going to be asking a lot of Chris Silva and Malik Kotsar in this one. Both have size but they are not big contributors. They really need one of those guys to have a career game.
Duane Notice is the small guard on this team and he is going to need to play well too so slow down De’Aaron Fox. The Canadian did not get on the scoreboard in their win at Florida during the week.
Needless to say Kentucky has dominated in this series overall. South Carolina has won at Kentucky just twice, the last time was in 2009.
Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky’s SEC play has followed a familiar pattern. Win on the road and dominate at home. Hard to see if stopping anytime soon.
Per usual, this year’s recruits are something to behold. Malik Monk and Fox are one of the best backcourts in America averaging 21 and 16ppg respectively while Bam Adebayo is one of the most physically imposing post players in the country.

When they want to lean on a more experienced player Isaiah Brisco is available. He is averaging 15ppg and kind if the spiritual leader of the group – he is a sophomore.
There is no shortage of talent in this group but they go through lulls. It is no surprise that they thrive on the energy of being at home.
