Yanni Wetzel and Nathan Mensah, who come from New Zealand and Ghana, respectively, are the two leading rebounders and combine to rip down more than 15 boards as a duo.
Through six games, SDSU’s defense has allowed just 56 points per game to the opponent. Holding Creighton under 60 may not be possible in this matchup but it may not be necessary either.

Part of that has to do with its pace of play. Creighton plays fast and shoots quickly. It shoots a lot of three-pointers too, which can lead to long rebounds and transition. It also doesn’t prioritize defensive play and instead goes after shooters.
Ty-Shon Alexander is a Preseason All-Big East section and is averaging more than 17 points per game so far. He and Marcus Zegarowski (18 points per game) are shooting over 50 percent on 12.5 three-point attempts per game, combined.
Mitchell Ballock is shooting 47 percent himself from out there and scoring nearly 14 points per game. All the guard depth has allowed the Blue Jays to, so far, overcome the loss of Noah Mintz, who is another double-digit scorer at the point guard spot.
