A couple of vintage Big East teams facing off here. Neither is in the upper echelon of the league this season.
Still one of these two will get a bump, especially Providence as Georgetown has enough brand recognition.
Unfortunately they are not recruiting like they used to, and it is showing on the court.
Providence Friars
Providence has not had a ton of success within the Big East this season but they did beat Georgetown at home 76-70 less than two weeks ago.
The Friars lost Kris Dunn to the NBA so they were looking for someone to take control in the backcourt. Junior Kyron Cartwright has proven capable of leading the team but is not the same sort of presence.
Up front the Friars are getting good production from leading scorer Rodney Bullock. Last year he was a third option at best but this year his usage has gone up while maintaining his efficiency.

He and Emmitt Holt are active on the glass too with the duo averaging 30ppg and 12rpg. Holt has upped his scoring by almost 400%.
Providence is a stingy defensive even though they don’t have great length or a rim protector. That will have to travel in this one.
The Friars are 0-5 in true road games this season and have covered in just one.
Georgetown Hoyas
The Hoyas started Big East play with four straight losses but they have won two in a row heading into this one. It could be a turnaround but scheduling has helped too.
Georgetown has one of the most impactful transfers in the country in Rodney Pryor.
He averaged 18ppg at Robert Morris and is averaging exactly that for the Hoyas in the much more competitive Big East. He was shutout by Butler though, something that was both surprising and drastically dragged down his average.

Jessie Govan looks like the next quality center to come out of Georgetown. He is getting more consistent and despite his big body he can even be a threat behind the arc.
If the Hoyas are going to stay in the conversation for the Tournament they have to get the games they are supposed to.
This one of those.

Free Providence Friars vs. Georgetown Hoyas NCAAB Prediction:
On paper these teams look pretty evenly matched. You have to give the Hoyas some edge for being at home but not a lot.
The key for GT is getting Govan into the game. If he plays well Providence does not have a great counter.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Georgetown -6.5
Not a lot of confidence in this one but I am going with the home team.
