This ACC matchup will see the Pittsburgh Panthers take on the Louisville Cardinals. Note that the Cardinals are the new number one team in the country. Both teams are currently 1-0 in the conference.
In two meetings last season, the home team won each game.
Pittsburgh Panthers
Since starting the season 2-2, the Panthers have won five games in a row. They do not have that many great wins, but they did beat Kansas State, Northwestern and Rutgers. Not that these teams are very good, but they are Power Five wins.
This Pittsburgh offense is pretty horrible to be honest. They are averaging only 65.8 points per game. This ranks 292nd in the country. The Panthers are also a very bad shooting team, averaging 41.8% from the field and 25.9% from the three-point line.
Trey McGowens is this teams leading scoring. However, he is only averaging 12 points per game. Other than him, the Panthers only have three guys that average between 10.9-11.9 points.

The defense for the Panthers is actually really good this year. At least so far. They allow an average of 58.9 points per game. This is the 20th best scoring defense in the country. Teams also shoot just 38.6% from the field and 33.7% from three-point range.
The biggest issue for the Panthers is they have yet to play a team of this caliber. Sure, Louisville is an ACC opponent, and a team they are probably somewhat familiar with, but the Cardinals are just a different animal so far this season. Pittsburgh is likely going to be outmatched, so their key to this game is starting strong.

If the Panthers going down big early, go ahead and mark them down as a loser because it is very unlikely they will come back on this Cardinals defense.
Louisville Cardinals
The Cardinals jumped to number one in the country after a Duke loss last week and so far it has been deserving. They just beat Michigan 58-43, and while their offense did not exactly have that wow factor, their defense did.
On the topic of their offense, the Cardinals had by far their lowest scoring game in the previous game with the Wolverines. They had not scored less than 70 in a game before scoring 58 against Michigan. To be fair, the Wolverines also have a solid defense.
Louisville does average 78.8 points per game and for college basketball, that is a pretty good mark. They are also shooting the ball extremely well, averaging 49.9% from the field. Not to mention their three-point shooting is sitting at an average of 38.6%.
They are led by Jordan Nwora, who is averaging 21.9 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Behind him there are three other guys that score in double-figures.

Just look at their performance against Michigan and you can see how dominate this defense has been. They allow an average of 59 points, 21st in the country. Teams are shooting 35% from the field, which is 7th best in the country. Opponents also shoot just 27.5% from three, which ranks 34th in the country.

Free Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Louisville Cardinals NCAAB Prediction:
This feels like a very defensive orientated game and I believe that the first one to reach 60 will win. I like the Cardinals at home in this spot, but with two defensive minded teams facing off, I like the Panthers to find a way to cover this inflated number.
