Oregon Ducks
Oregon won at Cal on Thursday for its fourth conference victory in a row but the Golden Bears hung in to cover as double-digit dogs with relative ease, as we had predicted here at Cappers’ Picks.

Payton Pritchard had another efficient twenty-one and eight and turned it over just three times. Matt Bradley broke out for twenty-five on Cal’s side.
Chris Duarte continued his hot run as Pritchard’s main sidekick with nineteen points. Will Richardson had fifteen.
Those are Oregon’s three leading scorers and they all compliment each other because each has a slightly different skill set. Pritchard penetrates and makes plays for others in addition to scoring himself; Duarte is a slasher and great in transition; Richardson is a pure shooter lighting up the three-point arc this season (.442).
Truly, though, all three and Anthony Mathis, a senior guard who averages over eight points per game right behind the first three, can all chuck from distance. The four combine to average 17.5 three-point tries per game and only Duarte (.385) shoots worse than forty percent. As a team, Oregon’s .391 three-point percentage is the eleventh best in the entire country.
Stanford Cardinals
Few teams are better around the three-point arc than Stanford, though.
The Cardinal ranks fifteenth in the country with a .386 shooting percentage and thirty-third in terms of holding opponents, who have made under thirty percent against Stanford’s defense.
But the Cardinal has lost three in a row, albeit by a total of eleven points. It lost to a sneaky Oregon State squad on Thursday, 68–63.
The Beavers finished four-of-twenty from three, compared to Stanford’s six-of-eighteen, but went to the free throw line for ten more attempts than Stanford did, even on the road.
Stanford is a good team, well-coached and capable of being a second weekend team in the NCAA Tournament. It was 15–2 before the three-game losing streak but there’s a question of where this team will finish and whether or not it will even play in the NCAAs.
