Miami and Villanova have held form and the #2 vs. #3 seed meets in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night.
Miami took down Wichita in the Round of 32 while the Wildcats ran the Hawkeyes out of the gym.
Miami Hurricanes
Miami quietly handled their business in the ACC this season and while they sat in the shadow of North Carolina and Virginia, they have really taken off here in the NCAA tourney.
Miami struggled a bit, but eventually handled Buffalo in the Round of 64. Following that, they took on Wichita State and while things weren’t incredibly easy there either, they continued to hold off run after run and after some clutch free throws, they put the game away.
The Hurricanes Angel Rodriguez has been the go to guy for them this season and things have continued to be stellar for him. Rodriguez finished with 28 points and 5 assists against the Shockers and had some clutch shots down the stretch.

Rodriguez has averaged 12.6 points per game to go along with 4 assists per game. Him, along side Sheldon McClellan are the two that must perform for the Hurricanes if they hope to have a chance.
Villanova Wildcats
Villanova has looked as good as any team in the tourney right now.
After running over UNC Asheville, the Wildcats showed no signs of problems against the Hawkeyes. After a lightning fast start, the Wildcats pulled away with rather ease en route to an 87-68 win.

Josh Hart has led the way for Nova through their first two games as he finished with 19 points and 4 rebounds against the Hawkeyes. Hart has averaged 15.4 points on the season as he has continuously come up clutch down the stretch this season.
Sharing the ball also hasn’t been a problem for the Wildcats. Nova turned in 23 assists against Iowa and continues to work the ball around, avoiding low percentage shots.
