Maryland Terrapins
Maryland’s top five players were all ranked in their class’ respective top 100 when they arrived on campus; the group consists of a senior (Anthony Cowan), a junior (Darryl Morsell) and three terrific sophomores.
Last season, Mark Turgeon’s team was good and wound up losing by two to LSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament after beating Belmont by the same margin in the first round.

This season, Turgeon’s team should be even better and get into the Tournament on one of the top two lines. It has balance and versatility, a little bit of everything and no real glaring weakness.
Of course, subtle weaknesses tend to show up at the most difficult of times and twenty turnovers doomed the Terps in their first conference loss to Penn State last weekend.
Seton Hall Pirates
Myles Powell, senior guard who averages twenty-one points per game, has been a bit of a one-man show out of necessity for Seton Hall this season.
On the road, that can be tricky. Seton Hall has lost its last two, both on the road, by ten at Iowa State and twenty at Rutgers. Powell didn’t shoot well in either and fouled out of the first. The second ended even worse for him and he left the game with a concussion.
On Tuesday, Seton Hall announced Powell was out indefinitely. That has to mean he won’t play in this game, which is truly a shame.
With Powell on the floor as the best player in front of the home crowd, Seton Hall would have pushed this game toward a pick. Without him, this handicapper fears it could be a third blowout in a row.
