It’s a lighter slate of games across college basketball on Friday but this should be a great Big Ten showdown. The Maryland Terrapins make the trip to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Maryland Terrapins look like one of the best teams in the Big Ten, and besides a slight stretch where they lost two games in a row, they have had a nice start.

Coming into this game they have won three games in a row including an impressive win in their last game over Ohio State. In that game they gave up only 55 points and that led to an easy victory.
On the season the Terrapins are averaging 74.8 points per game while the defense is giving up only 61.3. On the road the Terrapins have had a little struggle losing each of their two games.
In those games they scored only 58 points per game and that type of defensive production isn’t going to be enough. In this game the offense might not need to score 80, but 60 points aren’t going to be enough to get the job done.
They need to get out to a fast start on offense. IF they fall behind against the Hawkeyes offense, they could have some issues.
Iowa Hawkeyes
On the other side of this matchup is the Iowa Hawkeyes who have been a fun team to watch but that hasn’t always resulted in wins.
Coming into this game the Hawkeyes have lost two games in a row including a shocking loss in their last game against the Cornhuskers. The defense struggled giving up 76 points and that led to the disapointing loss.
The Hawkeyes are a great offensive team averaging 80 points per game, and in this one it’s going to be important the offense is strong.
If the offense gets out to a fast start, they will put pressure on the Terrapins and that could be enough to come out with a win.
