I have really not been all that impressed with the way that Marist has played so far this season. Frankly, there has not been all that much positivity associated with them throughout the course of the season.
The Red Foxes lost to the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Wednesday by a score of 69-62. They were actually leading at the half, but were simply unable to hold the lead and they let the other team get the win.
I am not saying that I feel this team should have some great record or anything, but two games below .500 is not acceptable for me. When you look at the teams they have gone against, it is not crazy to think they ought to have a better win/loss rate.
In the second half of their last game, they really let the Peacocks do whatever they wanted to do out there. Those are the things that cannot happen if you want to be a consistent basketball team.
Quinnipiac Bobcats
Similar to their opponent, Quinnipiac has not been all that great. I get the impression that they are just floating through the season and I really do not sense all that much urgency with them.
Right now, the Bobcats have a record of 10-7. Unless they string together a lot of wins over a span of time, they are going to finish the year with an average record, which is not going to get them all that far.
This club last played on Sunday, where they lost to the Iona Gaels by a score of 76-61. That final score is pretty much what you would expect when those two teams square off.
Considering the team they were playing, I did not feel that their defense was terrible in their last game, but I was not impressed with the offense. You are going to have to score more than 61 points if you wish to beat a team that is better than you are.
