Lipscomb Bisons
Lipscomb is a dangerous team. The Bisons return just about everybody from last year’s team that won the A-Sun Conference Tournament and then lost in the first round to North Carolina. The three seniors on that team combined to average about seven points per game. The top six scorers return this year.

Garrison Matthews averaged over twenty-one points per game as a junior a year ago but has taken on less of a scoring load this year, now that he has more help. Matthews is still pouring in over sixteen a game, along with Rob Marberry, who is scoring a tad more than his fifteen per a year ago.
The Bisons play fast and get to the line, where they have attempted and made the twelfth-most free throws, nationally.
At 6’8″, forward Eli Pepper averages over six rebounds per game to lead the team and shoots nearly forty-five percent from three, though that’s only on an average of one attempt per game.
Lipscomb has lost both of its games to Belmont and both games were close. It has already knocked off SMU and TCU in true road games. Louisville better bring its best in this one.
Louisville Cardinals
Louisville’s 6–3 record leaves some to be desired but its three losses have to come to Tennessee and Marquette in New York City (the Marquette loss was by three) and most recently by one at Indiana.
Wins against Michigan State, Vermont and at Seton Hall just about balance out those losses, in my mind at least, and the Cardinals host three winnable games before the in-state showdown with Kentucky (also at home), followed by the ACC slate.

At 6’10” 245, will Steven Enoch keep up with the pace of Lipscomb? He’s gotten in foul trouble before and he may again if he gets fatigued. The Cardinals need their big guy to establish himself in the paint.
