This is not the best Kentucky team but as the regular season winds down they are firmly in the field for the NCAA Tournament.
The same cannot be said for perennial participant Florida. With a new coach things have not come together that well in Gainesville.
As a result this game is much more meaningful to the home side. They should be amped up and ready to go.
Kentucky lost at Vandy on Sunday and thus enters the final week of the season tied with Texas A&M atop the SEC.
On Sunday freshman Jamal Murray was sublime but the rest of the team didn’t really show up. Murray, who is a much better shooter than I would have thought, scored 33 with 9 rebounds. But only one other Wildcat broke double digits.
It is no surprise that it was PG Tyler Ulis but he was off the whole game shooting 5 for 20 – 0 for 7 from three. That is not going to happen very often though.
What is happening a lot though is UK not getting much from anyone else on the roster. They need to get more from the likes of Alex Poythress and anytime Skal Labissiere wants to show he is useful would be great.
Thanks to their stellar backcourt this team can look good at times but the talent is not really there to just dominate folks. At least not with any sort of predictability.
Florida was a mainstay in the NCAA tournament during the Billy Donovan era but this season they are surely on the bubble and likely out at the moment.
They can definitely get some attention if they can bag Kentucky on Tuesday night. The Wildcats are not fantastic this season but the brand is still strong.
Dorian Finney-Smith is going to get all SEC consideration this year thanks to his averages of 14 and 8. He is a nice player but not the type that you really feature.
That is probably a good description for this hole team. They are nice pieces but they don’t have the star power like a Bradley Beal like they have had in the past.
To go on any sort of run to the Tournament they need Kasey Hill to get out of the funk he has been in all season long. He scored 16 on the weekend tying a season high in the loss at LSU. Maybe he can lead them on a run.

Free Kentucky Wildcats vs. Florida Gators CBB Prediction:
The Gators could definitely upend the Wildcats here. It has been proven that a spirited group can definitely get this team off their game especially on the road.
Still even though the last example was not great I really do like that UK backcourt of Murray and Ulis.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Kentucky -3
Florida just doesn’t have “it” like they have in the past. Don’t get too caught up in the history.
