Kansas beat Tennessee, 74–68, on Saturday. Devon Dotson finished with twenty-two points and seven assists. Udoka Azubuike had a double-double with eighteen points and eleven rebounds.
Kansas played without its two suspended forwards following Tuesday’s brawl at the end of its victory against Kansas State. Silvio De Sousa, who was suspended twelve games, won’t be back anytime soon but David McCormack, who is a starter, is already half done with his two games. He won’t play in this one, though.
With a full roster at his disposal, Self likes to play two big men most of the time, with a forward next to Azubuike. The suspensions have forced his hand.
Isaiah Moss entered the starting lineup as the fourth guard, along with Dotson, Marcus Garrett and Ochai Agbaji.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State beat Texas A&M by eleven points on the road to snap its six-game losing streak and earn its first victory of the new year.
Five guys finished with either eleven, twelve or thirteen points for the Cowboys. The eight guys who played at least ten minutes all finished with an assist and combined for twenty-two.
A deep rotation and balanced scoring defines this season’s Oklahoma State team. The senior guard Lindy Waters leads the team with 12.1 points per game. Ten guys average ten or more minutes per game.
When playing a team as talented as Kansas, the temptation for a coach his to shorten his rotation. Head Coach Michael Boynton would be wise to run as many bodies at the Jayhawks as possible, play the long game, even if KU starts fast, and try to wear them down.
Yor Anei, 6’10” sophomore who originates from the Democratic Republic of Congo, had his best game in a few weeks on Saturday with eleven points and nine rebounds. He’s slowed down after a strong start to this season but will be critical in this game in helping to slow down Azubuike of Kansas.

Free Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys NCAAB Prediction: Azubuike is the difference.
Kansas’ guards won’t dominate this game but Azubuike has the chance to for stretches. KU’s replacements rise to the occasion — freshman Christian Braun will have to play more minutes in this one than he did on Saturday against Tennessee — and Kansas will find a way to win by 4 or 5.
