Kansas last won on the road on January 12 in Waco, Texas. That was a big road win because Baylor is 6–2 and tied with Kansas State for the lead in the Big-12; KU is next at 6–3 and, remember, the Jayhawks have finished with at least a share of every Big-12 Regular Season Championship since 2005.
It’s a down year for the conference but it’s a down year for Kansas, too. Bill Self doesn’t have enough experienced bodies and even the freshman who were supposed to be doing it right away haven’t been anything special.
Thankfully, Dedric Lawson is having as fine a season as any individual in the conference, and perhaps even the nation. He’s averaging 19.5 points, over 10 rebounds and nearly two assists per game. He hit all three of his three-pointers against in Saturday’s win over Texas Tech.
That game was a home, though. The Jayhawks have beaten Texas, Iowa State and the Red Raiders since beating Baylor but have dropped road games in Morgantown and Austin since.
Kansas State Wildcats
Kansas State might actually start feeling some pressure to finally get Kansas this year because of all the cracks the Jayhawks have shown.
That might be taking things a little too far, though. The ‘Cats have problems of their own and 99 percent of them are on the offensive end, where they are 330th in points per game, as a team.
That isn’t only an indication of pace. They are shooting 32 percent from three and 42 percent from the field, overall. They have attempted the 293rd most free throws and are somewhere in the 200s in assists. They don’t rebound well, either.
The defense does hold opponents to nearly 40 percent, flat. In the Big-12, it’s been 42.7 percent. More was expected of this team.

I’m looking for a game played down in the 60s in Manhattan. The ‘Cats have the more experienced players at home so they should come out victorious in a close game.
