Kansas moved on in the Maui Invitational on Monday with a 30-point win over Division II Chaminade.
It wasn’t a clinic from the start — Udoka Azubuike spent much of the first half on the bench with foul trouble — but it was never in doubt, either. After Chaminade scored the first five points of the game, Kansas went on a 20–2 run and never looked back.

Devon Dotson scored 19 to lead the Jayhawks. Isiah Moss, a senior transfer student from Iowa, had 13. KU scored 36 points off of 27 Chaminade turnovers.
After the game, Head Coach Bill Self said that his team “didn’t play great but didn’t play poorly either.”
Earlier in the day, Kansas’ path to the trophy was made just a little easier when Virginia Tech and its upstart young team knocked off the experiences Michigan State Spartans.
Fans in Maui hoping to see two top-five teams in the championship game will have to settle for something a little less star-studded.

So far, so good for Pope. The Cougars have lost twice but both were reasonable: by five points against San Diego State and four points at Boise State. BYU also won by a point at Houston, a resume-boosting win despite Kelvin Sampson’s team not being at full strength.
Jake Toolson and TJ Haws are both seniors and will both take the most shots and score the most points. The similar-sized guards average about 28 points per game as a duo and did better than that against UCLA in the quarterfinal win on Monday.
It was close right up until the midway point of the second half when BYU went on a torrid run to pull away and win handily.
