Trayce Jackson-Davis was the leading scorer for this team in their last game with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Xavier Johnson also had 17 points and 7 assists.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Overall, I would that it was a good regular season for Illinois and now they will look to keep up strong play in their conference tournament and beyond.
The Fighting Illini ended up going 22-8 in the 2021-2022 season. Sure, they did have some losses that were not exactly good ones, but I still liked their body of work for the most part. There is no question that they are one of the more talented and complete teams you will find in the Big Ten.
This squad last played on Sunday, where they beat the Iowa Hawkeyes by a score of 74-72. It was no easy win for them, but they figured out a way to be a very tough team, which is always a good sign for a program, especially in the month of March.
Kofi Cockburn once again kept up his strong play in their last outing, as he went for 21 points and 14 rebounds. If he can keep up his strong play and the other players can contribute like they have been, I do not see a reason why this Illinois team cannot make some serious noise in March Madness.
