Man, it has been some season for Houston. They may not be getting talked about as much as some other teams out there, but they are very dangerous and should be taken seriously.
The Cougars took care of the Temple Owls on Tuesday by a score of 84-46. They did just what they needed to do against a team they are a lot better than right now.
Based on how they have played the whole season, I have no reason to believe why these guys cannot do some damage in March. They are going to be an extremely confident group and I do not not think many teams are going to want to face them.
Fabian White Jr. led his team in scoring in their last win with 26 points and 6 boards. Taze Moore also added in 19 points and 4 assists.
Memphis Tigers
When it comes to the teams in the American Athletic Conference, Memphis has certainly not been as dominant as a team like Houston, but they still have been a solid squad.
The Tigers currently have a record of 18-9. There is no question they can get win number 19 on Sunday, but that is going to be quite challenging for them to do so.
This crew beat the USF Bulls on Thursday by a score of 73-64. Of course, they will be in for a much bigger challenge when they face off with the Cougars.
In their last win over the Bulls, I would not exactly call it convincing. Considering how bad their opponent was, it would have been nice to see them win by more points, but at the end of the day, they still got the result they wanted.
