Harvard Crimson
Harvard hasn’t played an Ivy League game with a margin greater than five points yet this season.
The Crimson began with a home and away against Dartmouth, which it swept, beating the Big Green by five at home and four on the road.

But two narrow losses since have dampened Harvard’s Ivy League prospects. It lost by three at Penn and then by one the very next day at Princeton, which currently tops the league at 4–0.
It’s another road game on Friday night against the other undefeated team in the league: Yale. Both teams will play games on both Friday and Saturday and Harvard, which has already played three of its four games in the conference on the road, heads to Brown after this one in New Haven.
That road-heavy start to conference play means only two of Harvard’s last eight games will be played away from Lavietes Pavillion, where it is 6–0 on the season, if you include its season-opening victory against MIT, which managed just twenty-seven points in a loss.
According to Sports-Reference’s Simple Rating System (SRS), these are the two best teams in the league, with Yale (8.2) ahead of Harvard (3.1).
The Crimson has some impressive victories this season, including Texas A&M, UMass (by thirty-four points), at George Washington, at California, at San Francisco (which nearly took down Gonzaga this week) and vs California Irvine.
Yale Bulldogs
Yale took San Francisco to overtime but came up short; it played Oklahoma State to seven points in Stillwater; and it lost by two at Penn State. Those three losses all came before Thanksgiving.
Since then, a three-point loss at Chapel Hill represents the Bulldogs’ only loss. It has won thirteen out of fourteen, including consecutive victories at Albany, Lehigh, Massachusetts and Clemson, an impressive road gauntlet.
The ‘Dogs have won all four of their Ivy League games but three have come at home and none of them were against Princeton; nor have they played Harvard yet (the second game in Boston will be on the final day of Ivy League season).
Nationally, Yale is a top 20 three-point shooting team at thirty-eight percent. In conference play, it has bumped that up to better than forty-four percent on the most attempts in the league.
And then you consider its leading scorer is 6’10” forward Paul Atkinson, who has taken just eight threes all season (and made four of them).

Free Harvard Crimson vs. Yale Bulldogs NCAAB Prediction: Yale.
Yale is a Tournament-worthy side and it won’t miss a big opportunity to take a big leg up on Harvard by handing it its third loss of the season already. Just by splitting the regular season series puts Yale in the driver’s seat and virtually heads up against an inferior Princeton squad.
